Cirque du Soleil ALIZÉ's kids festival enchants kids of all ages!
The circus has a way of making you let go of your everyday worries as you step into a magical place where anything is possible🤹 This is the power that Cirque du Soleil channeled at Theater am Potsdamer Platz on May 31, 2026, by opening its doors to more than 350 children and young people from Berlin's child and youth welfare organizations for a special kids festival: day full of wonder, laughter, and magical memories!
The guests became immersed in the world of Cirque du Soleil long before the bell that marks the beginning of the show rang. In cooperation with Berlin children's and youth circus CABUWAZI-Marzahn (location "Springling"), Theater am Potsdamer Platz transformed into a colorful playground full of possibilities, where children took part in workshops, got their faces painted and enjoyed a bag of delicious Knalle popcorn. They juggled pins, balanced on poles, and marveled at the wondrous world of ALIZÉ. One of the show's most beloved characters added a dash of fairy dust into the foray: the magician clown Felix, brought to life by Pierric Tenthorey, who dazzled the children in every sense of the word with magic tricks before they piled into the theatre.🪄✨
Former Cirque du Soleil artist Patrick Schuhmann who now works in the technical team of Cirque du Soleil's first ever European residency show ALIZÉ was also present. A Berliner born and raised, Schuhmann had once performed on the very same CABUWAZI-Marzahn "Springling" stage as a child, an experience that kindled his passion for acrobatics. He admitted that CABUWAZI had showed him what was possible when children got the chance to be creative and believe in themselves. 🥹In many ways being a part of ALIZÉ felt like a homecoming for Schuhmann as he now got to share what had been such a formative experience for his own childhood, with other children.
Cirque du Soleil ALIZÉ first ever kids festival was made possible through the support of numerous Berlin child and youth welfare organizations and social initiatives. Among those involved were Berliner helfen e.V. of the Berliner Morgenpost, BILD hilft e.V. "Ein Herz für Kinder," Die Arche – Christliches Kinder- und Jugendwerk e. V., SchutzengelWerk, the Kinder- und Jugendhaus BOLLE, Stiftung Jona, die gelbe Villa in Kreuzberg, as well as Morus 14 e.V. and Zirkus Füdilu – Füße in die Luft e.V.
Numerous corporate partners also contributed generously to the success of the children's festival, including B.E.S.T. Veranstaltungsdienste GmbH Berlin, Deko Behrendt, Dr. Sasse AG, Kalbus & Schmidt Getränkevertriebs GmbH, Popkornditorei Knalle Berlin, System.B Berlin, and Transgourmet Deutschland GmbH & Co. OHG.
We'd like to thank all of the participants as well as our corporate partners for their support and for making this unforgettable day a real dream come true! 💞
